It’s difficult to convey how grateful I am to have known Brian Jones for the past nearly 20 years of my life, but here it goes. I met Brian when I was 12 years old, and after expressing my interest to learn how to play Green Day songs on the guitar, I became his first music student. Over these two decades, he’s done much more than simply teach me how to play guitar. He taught me the importance of playing by ear, which has led me to not having to rely on chord charts or the internet to figure out songs. He helped me form my first band and play my first gig. He’s introduced me to genres and musicians who I may have never come across on my own, but who have greatly inspired me.
Now in my 30’s as I embark on a new chapter of my musical journey, songwriting, he has been instrumental in my progress and motivation to keep moving forward. With his guidance, I am learning how to navigate the writing, recording and mixing process, which are whole different animals of their own. And because of the network of people in his life, he’s even introduced me to my friend and songwriting partner, whom I plan on releasing an EP with later this year. I could not imagine having made it this far without Brian. He is not just a music teacher- he is a mentor, coach, experienced professional, motivator, and basically family to me at this point. I am lucky and grateful to know him, and I highly recommend his services to anyone seeking to tap into their passion for music. Thank you for everything, Brian!!

I met Brian a few years ago, at the age of 27, when I was looking for further instruction on how to push my guitar playing, musicianship, and songwriting to the next level. I had played guitar for almost 15 years by that point, but wanted to turn playing at home into playing live and creating full songs. I reached out to Brian as he was located close to where I grew up in Wayne.
I cannot recommend Brian enough as a teacher and mentor. I thought I had hit a plateau in my playing and writing, but through Brian I’ve been able to improve in a wide variety of ways. Brian has been an excellent teacher, with a holistic and flexible approach that has helped me grow in many directions. Through him, I’ve met other musicians, wrote and produced songs in his studio, found an opportunity to play live, and built the confidence to write songs and share them at local open mics. He listens to his students and lets them guide the direction of the sessions, while always looking for additional resources to help along the way. For example, my lessons began as guitar lessons but have now covered playing other instruments (bass, drums), songwriting and developing my own songwriting process, and music production.
